Titan® laser skin tightening is a natural option to actively turn back the clock on aging skin. Titan® uses light energy to stimulate new collagen deep beneath the skin's surface. Titan® can tighten skin on your face, neck, arms and abdomen. It's the ideal solution for patients to enhance their youthful appearance without surgery, recovery time or injections.
How Does it Work?
Titan® utilizes a safe infrared light to heat the dermis well below the skin's surface. The Titan® procedure works via several methods. First it heats the weakened collagen which causes it to immediately contract and thicken. Simultaneously, it produces micro injuries to the dermis layer of the skin which stimulates the production of new collagen growth over the next several months. During the procedure, the skin's top surface (epidermis) is protected through continuous cooling with the Titan® handpiece.
Some patients see results immediately. For most patients, results are gradual over a three to six month period as new collagen is formed and the skin tightens.
Who is a Candidate?
Since the Titan® laser procedure heats tissue under the skin's surface, patients of any skin type or age can be treated.
What Can I Expect During Treatment?
The most common areas treated with Titan® are the face, neck, arms and abdomen. Generally, each patient can expect the following:
- Treatments are performed in the privacy and comfort of Aura Skin Spa, by a physician, registered nurse or nurse practitioner.
- Safety eyeglasses are worn to protect the physician or nurse practitioner and the patient's eyes from the laser light during the procedure.
- A cold gel is applied to the area being treated.
- The smooth cold surface of the Titan® hand-piece is applied against the skin with pressure and a warm sensation is felt.
- This is repeated over the entire face or the surface-area that is being treated.
- The procedure takes approximately 30 minutes for neck or 60 minutes for the full face. The treatment can be shorter or longer depending on the area or areas being treated.
The treated area may become pink and some mild swelling may occur. Both dissipate within a few hours. Patients can immediately return to their normal activities.
Is it Painful?
There is minimal discomfort with Titan® laser treatments. No anesthetic cream is required prior to the treatment. A slight warming sensation is felt during the treatment and some patients are more comfortable taking a mild pain reliever beforehand.
How Many Sessions Will I Need?
A single treatment can produce very good results for many patients, however, it is quite common for patients to have two or three treatments at one month intervals.
