Common Questions About Microdermabrasion

At Aura Med Spa, we understand that quality counts. That’s why we offer only the best experience you can find in cosmetic treatments at Aura Med Spa. If you are considering how microdermabrasion can enhance your look, read on to discover the wonderful benefits of this popular treatment.

How does it work?

Microdermabrasion utilizes small crystals to exfoliate the skin and remove debris and impurities using suction. This process will get rid of the outer layer of skin tor reveal more healthy and vibrant skin beneath.

When is microdermabrasion used?

If you have dull skin, brown spots or age spots, microdermabrasion can help. This treatment is great for all skin colors and types. It is not as effective on deeper issues like stretch marks, wrinkles, deep acne scars, or scars in general. Arrange a consultation with Aura Med Spa to learn if microdermabrasion can address your skin issues. Microdermabrasion is excellent to help reduce the appearance of sun damage and improve the texture and tone of skin.

Can I wear makeup after microdermabrasion?

For the first 24 hours after your microdermabrasion treatment, your skin will feel tight and look pink, similar to how windburn or sunburn would feel. Use moisturizer but do not apply makeup for the first day after your treatment.

How many treatments do I need?

Six to twelve sessions have shown to create the most noticeable improvement over time.

How do I prepare for my treatment?

To prepare, do not use Retin-A creams or other exfoliating creams for 2-3 days before you come in for your session. Avoid using tanning sprays one week prior to treatment. If you have recently laser surgery or used Accutane, you should wait before getting microdermabrasion.
