Thermage or Pellevé?

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there were a non-surgical way to tighten your skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles? At Aura Skin Spa, we offer many non-invasive solutions to your skin problems, especially the ones that bother our patients the most, such as the areas around the eyes, the mouth, forehead and jawline.

Two of our most popular procedures for treating sagging skin and wrinkles are Thermage and Pellevé laser treatments. Both transmit a radiofrequency current that heats the under layers of your skin to improve its appearance. As the heat builds, it causes a reaction that triggers the production of new collagen. This new collagen fills out and tightens your skin over time, giving it a smoother, younger appearance. But which of these treatments is right for you?

Thermage treatments last about 45 to 90 minutes

A hand piece is used to rapidly heat your skin to a high temperature with one strong burst of radio frequency. Immediately after the procedure, your skin will be red and swollen, but there is little overall downtime. Thermage can be used to treat the skin around your eyes, your face and neck, and even your body.

Pellevé treatments last about 45 minutes to one hour

A hand piece is used in a circular motion to treat each area several times. After treatment, your skin will be mildly inflamed, appearing plumper and refreshed.  Pellevé can be used to treat sagging skin under your chin and upper eyelids, and all over facial wrinkles and folds.

Thermage — one to two sessions
Pellevé – two to three sessions

As with any of our skin treatments, your aesthetician will work with you to decide how many treatments will work best for you. Both procedures take time to show complete results, as the new collagen takes three to six months to fully develop.
